Deposit and Final Payment
We accept American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover Card, Personal Checks, Cashier’s Checks made payable to ‘South Chile Tour’, and wire transfers. Wiring instructions will be provided upon request.
Your payment is considered complete only upon crediting to our operating account. A non-refundable deposit of at least $500 per person, varying depending on the destination, is required for us to secure your reservation. For cruises to the Galapagos Islands, Amazon River, Antarctica, and other destinations, non-refundable deposits and cancellation fees may differ significantly; therefore, please consult your travel counselor for specific details. Final payment is due 60 days prior to your departure date. Failure to receive final payment by this deadline gives us the right to cancel your reservation.
Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
Cancellation requests must be made in writing to South Chile Tour and are subject to the following fees per person:
Cancellation Date | Cancellation Fee |
---|---|
More than 60 Days Prior to Departure | Non-Refundable Deposit |
59 to 45 Days Prior to Departure | 30% of Trip Cost |
44 to 30 Days Prior to Departure | 60% of Trip Cost |
29 Days or Less Prior to Departure | 100% of Trip Cost |
For cruises, including those to the Galapagos, Amazon, and Antarctica, the Cancellation Fee is 100% of the Trip Cost 60 days or less prior to Departure.
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover trip cancellation/interruption. Refer to the Travel Insurance section below for more details.
Revision Fees
A revision fee of $25 may be applied to any changes made to a reservation. This fee is separate from any airline penalties that may also be applicable. Any changes to traveler name, tour date, or itinerary within 60 days of departure will be treated as a cancellation and subject to all applicable cancellation fees.
Price Guarantee
We guarantee the land portion of your tour price upon receipt of the initial deposit.
Visas, Passports, and Foreign Entry Requirements
It is the sole responsibility of the traveler to obtain all necessary visas, entry documents, and meet all health and other requirements mandated by the laws, regulations, and/or requirements of the country (or countries) to be visited. Some countries mandate that passports remain valid for at least six months beyond the trip dates. Information on foreign entry requirements for U.S. citizens can be found on the internet. Non-U.S. citizens should consult the appropriate embassies or consulates for entry/exit requirements. All international travelers must possess a passport. Last-minute cancellations due to incorrect entry documents will incur the cancellation fees outlined above.
Immunizations
Certain countries may require International Certificates of Vaccination against diseases such as yellow fever, particularly for travelers to regions like the Amazon. Detailed health information can be obtained from local healthcare providers or from reputable sources like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Traveler’s Health section.
Air Transportation
South Chile Tour arranges air transportation with various carriers from the passenger’s choice of departure cities. All airline tickets are subject to the airline’s Terms and Conditions effective on the ticket issuance date. Changes made to an airline ticket post-issuance are subject to penalties imposed by the carrier. Airfares are subject to different rules and cancellation fees, some of which may be non-refundable. Details will be provided at the time of booking.
Accommodations
Our accommodations are meticulously selected based on personal inspections, recommendations from local tour operators, and passenger feedback. While we endeavor to match our accommodation levels with international standards, this may not always be feasible in certain locations.
Transfers
Transfers between airports, hotels, and sea ports are typically included in most of our tours. In cases where they are not included, we can provide a quote for the cost and make arrangements on your behalf.
Not Included in Tour and/or Excursion Prices
The following are not included in your tour price: costs associated with obtaining passports and visas, medical charges for vaccinations, excess baggage charges imposed by airlines, local airport and/or departure taxes, travel insurance, gratuities, meals, and services not specified in your itinerary, and any other personal expenses.

South Chile Tour acts solely as an agent for independent suppliers providing hotel accommodations, transportation, sightseeing, activities, or other services connected with the tour. These services are subject to the terms and conditions of the respective suppliers. South Chile Tour and its employees, agents, representatives, and assigns bear no liability for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or incident caused by the negligence or default of any company or person providing these services.
